Assign a Static IP Address in Windows 7

Different Acuitas machines use a static IP address for communication with the outside. To use a computer with Windows 7 the computer must have a static IP address that is on the same subnet as the IP address of the machine.

Same subnet means this if a machine's IP address is 192.168.50.10 the computer must use an IP address 192.168.50.200.

To set a static (or fixed) IP address, proceed as follows:

Click on Windows Start Menu und type in 'network and sharing', if it comes up click on it.

When the 'Netowrk and Sharing Center' open click on 'Change adapter settings'

Right-click on your local adapter, where your Acuitas equipment is connected, and select 'Properties'

In the Local Area Connection Properties window highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click the Properties button.

Now select the radio button Use the following IP address and enter in the correct IP, Subnet mask, and Default gateway that corresponds with your network setup.

Don't set the same IP address for this computer as the Acuitas equipment has. A good choice is between .2 and .5, because does numbers are never assigned to any Acuitas equipment.

Press 'OK' and your static IP address should be set.
